We are currently in the planning stages of a woodland walk from Trevor basin along the canal towards Llangollen around the back of the "clinker" (a large piece of slag from an Iron works from many years ago), through the dense wood and stream then up to the Trevor & Garth community centre.  At this point we may look at opening a community cafe for visitors who take the walk, also local residents who wish to have a relaxing drink with other residents and visitors will be more than welcome.  The next stage of the walk will be along the disused railway line to the top of Station Road then right turn back to Trevor basin.  Along the walk we would like to plant some flower beds and hang some baskets at carefully selected points to brighten the area up.  Picnic benches and seats will also be placed at beauty spots on the walk.

A decision was made earlier in the year to enter Fron, Garth &  Trevor into Wrexham Council's Best Kept Village/Community competition and the unexpected out come was second place!!!!

To achieve second place the villages had to demonstrate good community involvement, cleanliness of streets and attractive floral displays.  The competition was supported by very many local groups and organisations who pulled out all the stops to get the area "spick and span" for the judges.  New planters have been added at carefully selected spots to give maximum impact to residents and visitors.  A litter picking day was arranged for the villages with many adults and children attending the day.

Many thanks to everybody who helped our villages achieve such a fantastic result.  When you consider that this was our first attempt at this type of competition you have to agree this is community spirit at its best!!!
